More Shore, more waders. Fly Flatts.

                                    1 of 4 Common Sandpiper

                                    1 of 7 Ringed Plover
                                    Greylag goslings

A good count of Ringed Plover

                                    1st Dunlin back

                                Ringed Plover, Common Sandpier

                                        1 of 3 Redshank.

Ideal conditions at Fly Flatts this morning with a light NNW>2 at a mild 8 degrees with full cloud and slightly hazy visibility.
With the water going down well now and some decent patches of shore the waders were out in force
with a good count of 7 Ringed Plover, 4 Common Sandpiper, 3 Redshank, 5 Oystercatchers and the first back, long awaited Dunlin. The Dunlin being exactly 1 week later than last year.
Just the 1 male Wheatear, whereas I should be in double figures up there by now, so they are either running late or its going to be a poor season for them.
A group of 8 LBB gulls were hanging around the Greylag goslings but being well mobbed by the Lapwings and Curlews. Otherwise, just the usual species, and nothing moving skyward, although most of my time was spent head down wader watching.
Just 5 Golden Plover in the Nolstar fields on my way up there but gone on my return journey.
A dry day given for tomorrow on a moderate sou'westerly but visibility poor with mist and fog.
