An unusually nice morning at Fly Flatts with full cloud but good visibility on a light SW>2 at 8 degrees. The first morning since last October that I did'nt need a coat on.
Alive with waders this morning, all very mobile moving around the banking and new areas of muddy shore. Ringed Plover are up to 7 now along with 6 Common Sandpiper, 3 Dunlin, 3 Redshank and 5 Oystercatcher. Next on the list has got to be Sanderling and/or Turnstone.
My first female Wheatear arrived today along with at least 7 males but looking bad on Ring Ouzel once again. The first Canada goose goslings were on the water whilst a Raven and LBB gull were overhead.
With the water level still dropping the peninsular will soon be showing and is already shallow enough for the Redshanks to wade in.
Plenty Swallows overhead but still awaiting a Swift.
Looking like another good forecast for morning despite it being a Bank Holiday.
