Leeshaw Reservoir

                                        Dipper down in the beck

                                    10 LBB gulls present

Distant 1 of 3 Common Sandpiper
                                1st Whitethroat of the year,

Dense fog on the tops so a dabble at Leeshaw with hazy full cloud on a light NE>2 at 10 degrees.
Plenty activity throughout the watch with a couple of firsts of the year with a Whitethroat singing its heart out and several House Martins moving through. Swallows, Sand Martins and Swifts were also present over the water along with 10 LBB gulls and a single Black Headed.
A good amount of shore showing but waders limited to 3 Common Sandpiper, 2 Oystercatcher and the usual Curlew and Lapwings with a few Lapwing chicks showing. A single Snipe was up drumming over the moor.
Leeshaw is usually a hotspot for early Cuckoo but non heard today, though the local farmer told BV that they are around now.
A few small passerines were present with Whitethroat, Linnet, Goldfinch, Grey Wagtail and Great Tit whilst a Dipper was down in the beck.
The continuing ENE light wind is due to bring more fog for the morning and looking at the lifeboat stations this afternoon most of the east coast is shrouded in fog.
