Ogden yet again, a.m. / Horton Bank Top, p.m.

OGDEN                        Distant Raven

                             Several Long Tailed Tits.

HORTON BANK TOP.
                                Good count of Herring gulls

                                    Only 2 LBBs
                                Single male Goosander

Another of those dark, drizzly morning at Ogden with full cloud on a light N>2 at 3 degrees with fog on the tops, as per normal.
A bit of a boring watch at Ogden with nothing on the water other than the usual few small gulls and Mallards, whilst the usual woodland birds were present with a small count of 8 Redpoll and 10 Siskin along with Treecreepers, and the Tit flock etc. There,s only so many times you can watch the same woodland species so time to draw a line under Ogden for a while unless it shapes up on the water.
Mid afternoon and a quick visit to Horton Bank Top where there was a decent count of 38 Herring gull of various ages though nothing special among them and no Med gull among the c 150 small gulls.
Otherwise it was down to the ever present Coots, Moorhens, Mallards and a single Mute Swan as well as a single drake Goosander.
A short visit here as not the most pleasant of places with several undesirables hanging around smoking their wakky bakker, though to be fair, the security at the gates asks if you have any weapons and if you say no he lends you a baseball bat.
A cloudy day tomorrow but a moderate westerly which will hopefully shift any fog on the tops so that I can get back to the solitude of Fly Flatts.
