Leeshaw Reservoir

Plenty noisy Greylags coming and going

                                    Good count of gulls

                                Greylags in to land

A bright sunny start to the morning at Leeshaw with clear blue skies and good visibility on a cold NW>2 at minus 1 degree.
Nothing out of the ordinary this morning but an amazing number of gulls and geese with around 400 small gulls, 26 Herring and 2 LBBs all checked for the awaited white wings, whilst Canada and Greylag geese were coming and going all morning.
A morning of mainly scope work scouring through the mass of  gulls as well as the Greylags in the hopes of something special, though not to be....as yet!
Otherwise there were several Fieldfare and Redwings in the distant Hawthorn hedge but nothing on the water other than Mallards and a single Heron on the shore.
The sky looked good for moving Pinks and Whoopers but this failed to happen.
Looking good for morning with a bright sunny day expected with a drop in temperature to minus 3 degrees on a moderate NW>3. Unfortunately there will still be no access to Fly Flatts until the council clear the gate area.
