Ogden in the snow

                                    A slippery Ogden Lane

                                The Promenade
                                    Gloomy water
                                    Frozen around the edges
                                    Black Headed in the snow
                                Visiting Barnacle Goose

                                    6 Grey Partridge, Ned Hill

Well the forecast was right with a slight covering of overnight snow then steady snow all day but not amounting to much. Sticking close to home, just in case, Ogden was very dull with continuous light snow on a SW>3 at minus 2 degrees.
A very poor morning with nothing in the Alders and the only birds found in the waterside trees were a small 4 species Tit flock plus the usual Blackbirds, Robins, Dunnocks and Wrens.
Just 18 small gulls on the water but a continuous flow of  post roost, big gulls heading >NE coming over from the SW. A Barnacle goose was in with the Mallards, probably the Cold Edge goose doing the rounds.
The family group of 6 Grey Partridge were foraging in the horse field by the Ned Hill track on my way home.
A bright sunny day tomorrow but down to minus 6 early morn on a very light NW so no chance of getting rid of the lying snow as yet.
