Fly Flatts at last

                                    Early morn, Fly Flatts

                                    1 of 2 Reed Bunting

                                    Several Fieldfare

                                    3 Grey Partridge.

A brilliant morning to be up on the tops with wall to wall sunshine in a near cloudless sky. A light NW>2 at 0 degrees with frozen puddles and a very icy road up to the reservoir.
A quietish morning, as expected at this site until mid February but good to be back walking the moor and enough birds to keep the interest going.
Three Grey Partridge were a surprise with being used to getting all Red Legged up there, whilst several Fieldfare were in the top fields along with good numbers of Starling. A few Red Grouse were noisy on the moor, probably celebrating the end of the shooting season, although I,ve seen no sign of shooting up there for the last 2 seasons now with very few Grouse to be found.
Just 2 Reed Bunting in the compound and 15 Mallard on the water with nothing moving in the sky.
Showing another dry day tomorrow but the light  south easterly could bring in the fog.
