Leeshaw Reservoir, below the fog.

                                    Post roost Woodpigeons
Group of 10 Snipe, high and >E

Distant shots with Canon EF 300mm f4 L IS

No surprise to waken to thick fog but Leeshaw was just slightly hazy which soon cleared leaving it full cloud but good visibility on a calm E>1 at 12 degrees with fog lingering on the moor tops.
As usual, at Leeshaw, plenty going on with Alba Wagtails and Snipe moving plus a few Meadow Pipits but gull numbers were well down. A flock of 15 Lapwing were mobile and at one point the air was filled with Woodpigs as they left their overnight roost.
Nothing but the usual on the water and all shore now gone with the water piling down the overflow..
Experimenting with the Canon 300mm this morning after stripping the 600mm yesterday and finding the printed circuit wiring link snapped which makes it unrepairable, price wise, as the link is part of the full electrics costing as much as a new lens to repair. Unfortunately Big Bertha 3 has had to be put down.
If the fog stays away tomorrow early morning there,s a good chance of a Redwing move with big numbers heading down country and several reported today.
