Fly Flatts,a.m. / Ringby Top, p.m.

FLY FLATTS                                 Over 200 Canadas in the area now
                                                    plus the usual Barnacle
                                                    still paired up
Back to 2 Ringed Plovers again now.

1 pair of Pied Wagtails,   male

                                                                  female

RINGBY TOP                                5 singing Skylarks.

Another spring like morning at Fly Flatts with full sun , though hazy around the horizon, on a mild SE>3 at 5 degrees.
The waders had settled down again today with yesterdays 2 male and a female moved through leaving the original pair still present. The 4 Redshank were still feeding in the waters edge at the north end whilst a single male Stonechat was near the top gate.
A pair of Pied Wagtail were chasing each other round looking like another year of breeding though not the same pair as last year, last years male had a deformed foot.
Otherwise it was the usual species plus an unwelcome visit from a fly over Peregrine. I havent seen one up here for quite a while and dont really want to, Peregrine and waders don,t mix.
Mid afternoon and a check of the quarry area on Ringby Top to see if an early Wheatear had shown up yet but not to be. Several Meadow Pipits and 5 singing Skylark were present along with a single Stonechat and the usual corvids. No chance of sky watching from up there today with the haze restricting visibility.
