A long awaited Med gull this winter. Thornton Fields.

A first for Thornton Fields since the October 2021 birds .
My last one after the October birds was Dec 2021 at Leeshaw.
Another great find by gull man Mark Pearson.

I re located it in a nearby gull hot spot field.

A morning at Fly Flatts and mid afternoon at TMR seemed irrelevant after a call from MP, as I was locking the gates at TMR ready to leave, reporting an adult Med gull at Thornton.
A quick dash from Oxenhope to Thornton where the gull was still present along with 8 Black Headed but they were very flighty and soon flew over the ridge towards the top of Thornton.
Another dash in the car to a usual field not far away and there it was busy feeding among Black Headed and Jackdaws. The bird was still present as I left.
Thanks again to Mark who is now leading me by about 5-2 on the Med gull search.
