Fly Flatts a.m. (permit only), Ogden p.m.

FLY FLATTS                        Plenty Curlews in the air

                             Squabbling with the Ringed Plovers
                                        5 Present today. 3m  2f.

Red Grouse enjoying the scenery from Robin Rock
                                                   More Ringed Plovers

                                         2 of 4 distant Redshank.
                                           Noisy Raven
                                                 Wall to wall Meadow Pipits.
                                      Always Red Legged Partridge about.
                                        1 of 4 Mistle Thrush.
The Ogden Mute Swan on Mixenden this morning
Taken through the mist from the top road.
OGDEN                                    Song Thrush singing well
                                             2 Herring on the water

                                                    plus 1 Lesser Black Backed.

Conditions reversed this morning with fog and mist low down and the uplands in glorious sunshine with with full blue skies on a light S>2 at 2 degrees.
A very active morning with 3 male and 2 female Ringed Plover present causing a lot of squabbling with the males whilst 4 Redshank were in the waters edge at the north end of the reservoir. The usual 2 Oystercatchers were vocal and mobile as well as several Curlews and Lapwing.
Meadow Pipits are everywhere now and Reed Bunting numbers are building but no signs of the Stonechats today.
Otherwise it was down to 2 Ravens, 4 Mistle Thrush , a male Pied Wagtail and 4 Red Legged Partridge.
A visit to Ogden mid afternoon was disappointing as it must have been national nugget day with a group of around 20 unsavory characters causing problems as they walked around the track so I stuck to the promenade area.
As NK stated, the 2 Oystercatchers appear to be glued to the overflow wall having been in the same place for a week now. Just 2 very smart Herring gulls on the water along with a single LBB and around 30 small gulls and 2 Canadas plus the usual Mallards.
A Song Thrush was singing well by the lodge house whilst a Grey Wagtail ,Dipper and Kingfisher were in the sluice gate area with a Sparrowhawk flying overhead.
