Some days are diamonds, some days are stone. Fly Flatts/Mixenden.

A cloudy day at 7 degrees but only a very light NE>2 and no rain.
The lack of pictures tells the story of todays birding.
After a hectic wader and Wheatear day yesterday at Fly Flatts, today was just the opposite with no Goldies or Wheatear in the top field and only 2 Wheatear found down near the water.
Waders were near non existent with just 4 Common Sandpipers and 2 Redshank and no signs of the Ringed Plovers. Empty skies and empty water other than the usual geese.
Mixenden late afternoon was even worse with just 2 Gt Crested Grebe and 4 Mallard plus a few Swallows through >N.
With the early exit of Mixenden I had a wander on Ned Hill track which just produced
3 Whitethroat, 1 Chiffchaff and a Willow Warbler.
One of those days when I was glad to get home and crack on with some jobs. Oh well, theres always tomorrow!!     What a disappointing spring this has been so far for migrant waders.
