A better day at Fly Flatts(permit only)

                                          Arrival of 6 Oystercatchers

The Ringed Plovers turned up after 2 days absent.
A count of 14 Common Sandpipers

                                       Several Herring gulls present

                                                        LBB joins in

                                      New arrival of 11 Wheatear

Quick view of Short Eared Owl.

Nolstar fields held 12 Golden Plover and a Dunlin
Strange place to find a Dunlin.

Well camouflaged  in front of the Goldie.

A mild 7 degree morning with a light SW>3 and a few showers. By late p.m. the wind had turned and increased to S>4 with no sign of yesterdays fog.
A much livelier day with an arrival of passage waders and Wheatear with 6 Oystercatchers present on the south shore whilst a walk on the west bank produced 14 Common Sandpipers. The pair of Ringed Plovers that have been missing for 2 days were back in their usual areas whilst 11 Wheatear were around the feeding area and Robin Rocks.
A lower count of big gulls stuck to the water whilst a Peregrine was mobbed by Curlews and Lapwings. Thats the first Peregrine I,ve had up there this year fortunately, not a bird I want to see at this site.
On the return journey this afternoon, a check of the Nolstar fields found the return of 12 Golden Plover plus an unusual find of a single Dunlin.
If anyone wants to see an amazing photo of Dunlin and Sanderling click on MCs Oxon link on the right.
Theres also some stonking photos of Turnstone.
