Common Sandpipers not minding the high water
1 of 2 Oystercatchers
3 Redshank present
A second pair of Ringed Plover arrived.
A new arrival, Dunlin
After overnight thunderstorms and torrential rain the water is now gushing down the overflow with all but the SW corner of shore plus the cobbled banking gone.
A mild day with a SW>3 at 9 degrees with full cloud cover and light rain showers.
Just a quick visit to the reservoir today but enough to find 3 new arrivals despite the lack of shore. A second pair of Ringed Plovers had come in overnight as well as a single Dunlin, giving me some hope of still picking up waders.
Other than the new arrivals, wader wise, 9 Common Sandpipers were present as well as Oyks and Redshank. A single Wheatear was present whilst a steady flow of Swallows skimmed over the water >S. Around 30 Canada goslings so far as well as 4 Greylag.
