OXENHOPE RESERVOIR 2 Dunlin in the NE corner.
A bright and breezy day with a W>4 turning WNW>5 at 4 degrees rising to 8 degrees late afternoon.
The cloud slowly built up this morning with a very heavy hail shower p.m. whilst at the Oxenhope res.
More Common Sandpipers had arrived at Fly Flatts this morning and 2 Dunlin were feeding on the east bank along with Oystercatchers and Redshank. Only 2 Wheatear present and 2 Golden Plover in the Nolstar field.
A check on Oxenhope reservoir late afternoon with very little banking other than the south and east bank cobbles which is where all the wader action was.
As with Fly Flatts, 2 Dunlin were present along with Common Sandpipers whilst several gulls were on the water as well as the usual geese and Goosander.
An icy wind at both reservoirs today, hence the old Yorkshire saying,
' Ne'er cast a clout till May is out.
Near gale force winds and heavy rain tomorrow, real Bank Holiday weather, watch for those SW then S winds blowing some Terns or Little Gulls through.
