Fall of Wheatears , Fly Flatts, (no public access.)

The weather went from one extreme to the other from yesterday to today.
Very foggy conditions this morning cutting visibility down to half way across the water with a SW>3 and heavy rain showers amongst a full session of drizzle at 12 degrees.
By late afternoon the wind had turned and increased to W>5 clearing the fog but sending white horses across the water with the drizzle continuing but much lighter.
A walk the full length of the west bank this morning was a very wet but good move with a count of at least 22 Wheatear along the banking mainly juvs but at least 5 adults in very smart autumn plumage. The attraction was that Bentleys had soiled the edges of the banking and spread grass seed which also brought a number of Meadow Pipits down. At £500 a bag for this special fast growing seed I dont think they would be right happy but it saves me putting Nyger down for a few days.
There was also several Wheatear around the Withins Head farm as I stopped on the way home for a Black Redstart check.
A Sparrowhawk passed through which was unusual for this site but probably attracted by all the passerines whilst a group of Golden Plover headed >NW.
The late afternoon watch was very quiet with just 11 LBB gulls on the north bank plus the usual geese etc and no waders plus no photos taken, oh well, theres always tomorrow.
