Grounded again on a good reservoir watching day.

  •  A real wet day with torrential rain early a.m. easing mid morning then returning in the afternoon with the SE>5 wind increasing to gale force SE>8.
  • Unfortunately , with the car still in dock, I missed out on a good reservoir watching day and had to make do with 3 good soakings whilst dog walking instead.
  •                                                      Several Swallows were feeding over the trees in Foxhill park in the pouring rain and a surprise to get a little group of 5 Swifts over, low and >S. Ten Common gulls were present on the football pitch along with 7 Black Headed whilst a Great Tit visited the bird feeders, a rare bird for here , and a Sparrowhawk whizzed through narrowly missing getting a juv House Sparrow.
  •                         Managed  to get the car back at tea time with some parts on order so it will have to go back in again at some point but was,nt going to leave it there any longer with the shoreline quickly disappearing at Fly Flatts, if theres any left at all, but I,ll find out in the morning.
  • 2 Sandwich Terns were at the Manchester vig mig point this morning with Osprey and Arctic Tern yesterday along with an Osprey over Huddersfield watch point also yesterday.
