Too hot and sunny + too calm = no birds. Fly Flatts.

Unusual for Teal to be present throughout the summer

A hot and sticky afternoon at Fly Flatts with 60 % cloud cover, long periods of sunshine and a very light N>2 breeze, not the weather for Fly Flatts birding.
An intensive scoping from the west bank watch point  again failed to find any wader species with just 4 LBB gulls and 2 Black Headed along the waters edge along with 7 Teal , 8 Mallard, 12 Canadas and 2 Tufted.
No sky movement today with just 6 Kestrel, some being mobbed with Mipits, and DJS picked up a Merlin whilst we were chatting up there.
A cooler day forecast for tomorrow with a decent NW>4 which will hopefully liven things up a bit although their is still some signs of movement with a Whimbrel, Knot and Tern sp at Ringstone tonight, Hx grapevine .
