Fly Flatts, Nab Water Lane, Paul Clough.

Found this on my travels this morning. Barn Owl
Once impossible to find in this area , now becoming
                                                  a common sight.

Poor pics taken through mist and heavy drizzle at very
                                            low light settings.

0700 hrs at Fly Flatts saw some early visible migration with around 100 Mipits >S and >SW along with 3 Swallows, 2 Reed Bunting and a single Skylark but by 1745 hrs the cloud dropped with rain turning to heavy drizzle throughout on a strong SW>6. Although the cloud base stayed just shrouding the turbines it was too low for sky watching.
A scan around the shoreline and water produced 1 LBB gull, 9 Teal but no Mallards or Pintail which were probable still down at Dean Head where they roost.
A Whinchat showed briefly up the track near the top gate as well as a low flying Buzzard which both were embarrassingly  missed on camera due to the slow focusing of the 7d mk1 compared to the super fast focus of the 7d mk2. You dont realize how fast it is until you go back to the mk1.
A drive around Nab Water Lane and Paul Clough found several blogging Mipits but as conditions worsened I had to call it a day.
