Pintail still present at Fly Flatts

Pintail still present but mega distance away.
Even at this distance you can,t mistake that slim neck and head.

2 Buzzards high over the western ridge

1515 hrs at Fly Flatts with 50 % cloud cover , too much sun and a strong SW>5.
The west bank was out of bounds today and looking like it could be the same for some time with heavy drilling machinery operating so I had to contend with the east bank to a position just north of the boat compound. From here the view along the east bank is good and you can see into the hidden pond where the Teal hang out but areas of the shoreline are hidden and its a great distance from the north shore where all the birds were tonight. Other than that you are facing the sun so not the best place for photos, especially in the sky.
All the Teal were in the waters edge along the north shore and a scoping through them produced the male Pintail standing out in size and its long slim neck obvious.
A jogger ran along the north path flushing the timid Teals but the Pintail stayed put on the water so photos were well out of range but good enough to i.d. it. If I had been at my west bank watch point I could have got some cracking photos.
Otherwise, 2 Buzzard were high over the western ridge heading >W towards Gorple whilst a few Swallows and Mipits headed >SW.
A possible showery day tomorrow with a W>4 so hopefully we,ll be getting the waders I ordered over the weekend.
A poor do for the sailing club this year who have had to cancel sailing until the water risers due to not being to launch the safety boat, dangerously soft mud and several objects now showing above the water out in the reservoir.
