Seems to have settled at Fly Flatts until its out of eclipse.
Back in action today at Fly Flatts late afternoon in poor conditions of sunshine almost throughout on a wild W> 7 near gale at 33 m.p.h.
Starting to look a bit grim on the waders now with none present yet again although its still possible to get some through even into October. Mallard numbers had risen to 43 though some left to roost at Dean Head late in the watch whilst 7 Teal were in the north west corner and the Pintail was still present but ,as DJS remarked this morning, very hard to pick out mixed in with the Mallards, especially when they were on the water.
Photos werent easy as once again I was confined onto the east bank making the distant further away and sun full on in the face. I had thought of parking on the top road and walking down the north end but a fresh pile of window glass by the top gate made me think again.
Several Mipits were on the south shore along with 2 Wheatear.
