Thinks are looking up. Fly Flatts.

                                   Several LBBs on the move

LBB 2nd summer and juv, far bank

1 of 2 Tufted in eclipse

                                           Shower time

                                          Far banking

Decent weather at last at Fly Flatts with 100% cloud cover though only a very light NE>2 with a temperature of 23 deg but pleasing with the sun out of the way.
A different temperament all together today with a good move of LBB gulls plus a few Herrings all >NE whilst 7 Black Headeds remained on the water.
A single LBB and juv were on the far banking whilst 2 Tufted ,new in, were in the waters edge and on the east shoreline.
More encouragement of things starting to move when I arrived at the NW corner with yesterdays flock of 7 Common Sandpipers moved on and 2 Redshank on the banking which unfortunately saw me before I saw them and headed off west low over the moor. These were moving
birds as the breeding Redshanks left over 3 weeks ago.
Still no target bird, Wheatear, but if the cloud remains there will be more of a chance of them moving so I,m still expecting one before the weekend.
At home this evening, 1730-1830 hrs the sky was full of Starling, Black Headed and Lesser Black Backed gulls very high feeding on probably flying ants. This was also reported around Calderdale.
Good luck to England tonight 1-0 up at half time. They wanted HC and me to get the old team up and play but HC was busy in the garden and I had my blog to do.
