Up in the clouds, Leeshaw reservoir.

                                A cloudy sunset last night.
LEESHAW               Unusual visitor, Gt Crested Grebe.

                                    1 of 9 Redshank
Lapwings paired up and sitting now.

                                Fog banks moving through.

                                Few gulls moving through.

                                    Redshank.

Dense fog up on the tops early morn with even Leeshaw misty, lying just on the cloud base with some thick fog patches moving through. A light NE>2 was,nt enough to move the mist leaving horizontal visibility only at a cool 3 degrees.
A new arrival on the water and unusual visitor for this site was a Gt Crested Grebe which stayed throughout the watch. Very little in the way of gulls this morning with just 3 Herring, 2 LBB and a single Common all heading west along with 2 Grey Wagtails heading in the same direction.
Nothing different otherwise with several Redshank, Curlew, Oystercatcher and Lapwings plus the usual Greylags and Canadas whilst the Balkram Edge Swallows are back in their annual breeding area.
A text from birder Mark this afternoon told me of 5 Whooper Swans that had come into Leeshaw since I left this morning. Thanks for that info Mark.
Hopefully tomorrows forecast for rain will bring something different through.
