6 Whoopers on Leeshaw .
Left at 0830 >NE. Gt Crested Grebe looked shocked.
Flew 2 circuits of the water then off >NE
24 Oystercatchers present.
Gt Crested Grebe staying put.
Single Common gull
1st winter 2 CY
Looked odd still with pink legs.
A morning of sunshine and showers at Leeshaw reservoir with a light SW>3 at a mild 9 degrees.
The 6 Whoopers found yesterday afternoon by birder Mark were still on the water this morning but very noisy and neck bobbin and by 0830 hrs they lifted off flying two circuits high over the water before heading off >NE.
The Gt Crested Grebe was still present , nearly getting trampled as the Whoopers took off, I think surely these will be the last of the Whoopers this spring. Once again the area was alive with 24 Oystercatchers, 9 Redshank, 12 Curlew and lots of Lapwing.
A Common Sandpiper flew fast over the water but disappeared to the west of the water and out of sight whilst 2 Grey Wagtails and a Dipper were by the beck.
Nothing else on the water other than Greylag, Canada and Mallard whilst only the one gull present, a single 1W 2CY Common gull which looked odd still retaining its pink legs.
