A wet morn at Leeshaw Reservoir.

                                Redshank in the rain
                                    Plenty Oystercatchers

                                    Several Curlew

                                    Good move of LBB gull
                                    plus a few Herring

                                Dipper gathering nest material.

                                    LBB

                                    Few Meadow Pipits present

                                Some LBBs stopped off briefly

In contrast to yesterdays weather the morning was foggy on the tops with Leeshaw just below the cloud base but rain throughout on a SSW>3 and full cloud at 5 degrees.
Much better birding conditions today with the cloud and rain livening things up with a good movement of Lesser Black Backed gulls, after a noticeable absence of them over the winter. A good count moved through >W, some stopping off in the fields briefly before moving on. Some Herring gulls also came through along with just 1 Common and 1 Black Headed but none of my target birds, Terns, Kittiwakes and Yellow Legged Herrings, even though the conditions looked right.
Plenty Redshank, Oystercatchers and Curlew but no shore to invite the Little Ringed Plovers that usually arrive at this site anytime now.
A Dipper was collecting nest material along with a pair of Pied Wagtails and a Kingfisher flew down stream. Otherwise it was down to the usual species.
