The 2nd pair of Ringed Plover
Good move of Greylag geese
Greylags
More Greylags
A cold NE>3 at Fly Flatts early morn but the low temperature of 3 degrees had cleared the fog leaving good visibility with part cloud and some sunshine.
Nothing special to start off the month but Greylag geese were the highlight with a move >SE totalling 41 in small groups. Some landed briefly on the banking and water before moving off.
The 2 pair of Ringed Plover have now established separate areas some distance apart and seem settled whilst 2 Oystercatchers are regular in the area as well as 3 Redshank.
A good year for Lapwing and Curlew with the best numbers present for several years. Just 8 LBB gulls over >SE whilst small passerines comprised of 2 Wrens, 1 pr Blackbird, sev Meadow Pipits and a single Reed Bunting.
Start of the sailing season at Fly Flatts tomorrow.
