Easter Saturday Special at Leeshaw.

1 of 2 stonking adult Great Black Backed gulls.
A rare gull species this winter in my area.

Showing large mirror + smaller mirror P9.
Can sometimes show mirror on P8..

                                At least 8 Redshank present

As predicted, fog on the tops but Leeshaw sitting just below the cloud base. A very light E>1 with full cloud and then sunshine just before knocking off time with a temp of 6 degrees.
A lucky move going to Leeshaw with 2 beautiful Great Black Backed gulls dropping on the water at 0830 hrs and after a couple of circuits over the water, returned and stayed throughout the watch.
The cloudy skies livened the birds up no end with skies full of Oystercatcher, Redshank, Curlew etc but very few other gulls. Several Swallows about all morning, mostly >W but no House Martin as yet.
