Keep em coming, Shelduck, Fly Flatts.

                                    Common Sandpipers pairing up now

                                  Another good visitor, Shelduck
                                    Adult male.

                                Resting on the north shore.

An icy cold N>4 at Fly Flatts early morn at 2 degrees with 90% cloud and short bursts of sun. One heavy hail storm then one at home later in the day.
For the second day running another welcome visitor had arrived after yesterdays Common Scoters with a single adult male Shelduck sticking well out in the centre of the water before sleeping on the north shore and was still there when I left.
An overnight fall of Wheatear were in the top field near the entrance track with around 8 present but very flighty in the wind. Only sky movement was several Swallows >N over the water but no gulls other than the usual LBBs hanging around the west bank.
The Common Sandpipers are paired up now with 2 pairs but their usual nest site is still under water, whilst the 2 female Ringed Plover are now missing, presumably sitting eggs with both males still actively present. Otherwise down to the usual species.
