And how she blew, Leeshaw.

Female Goosander in the deep swell
Gt Crested Grebe, a fish every dive.

                                1 of 2 Herring gull
                                Several Curlew

                                    Usual crowd of Oystercatcher.

Horrendous conditions at Leeshaw Reservoir this morning with a gale force W>7 gusting 8 driving horizontal heavy rain over the water throughout the watch at 4 degrees.
A female Goosander was new in battling the waves along with the Gt Crested Grebe, which didn,t seem to bother about the rough water, catching a fish every dive and then sleeping the rest of the watch.
I expected more gulls through in the conditions but only 2 Herring gulls appeared going directly through >W. Otherwise it was just the usual Redshank, Oyk, Lapwing and Curlew flying around frantically in the strong wind.
Mallard, Canada and Greylag were all lying low in the big field with their heads down.
No wind tomorrow with a very light SE, E, and then >N so fog could be on the cards in the morning.
After that we,ve a full week of easterlies which will hopefully bring more than fog.
