Back with the gulls, Leeshaw Reservoir

These first 2 pics are from Leeshaw yesterday which I put as
Herring gull but it has been put to my attention as looking good
for Caspian gull. After blowing them up and checking the details mentioned
plus some other detail, it has a long pale bill with small gonys, slender shaped
head with small dark eye. The gull is a 2 CY showing plain underwing and a single mirror on primary P10 which a Herring wouldnt show at this age, which is also the case with the small eye.

Herrings and LBBs on the water
Another good move of big gulls >W

                                    Alive with Oystercatchers
                                        Herrings

                                            Usual Little Owl

Thick fog early morn but bright and clear at Leeshaw with blue skies and sunshine on a WSW>4 at a mild 6 degrees.
Yesterdays gull movement continued this morning with Herring and Lesser Black Backed gulls moving through >W with several stopping off on the water. Nothing special that I could pick out among them and no signs of Terns as yet though going by previous years sightings they are now very hard to come by in my area.
Much the same as yesterday with all the usual Oystercatchers, Curlews, Lapwings etc with just 2 Red Legged Partridge to add. Looked good for a passing Osprey this morning but that was,nt to be, even though there are several heading up country.
