Vis Mig Watch/Osprey Watch.

At last a decent clear morning at Fly Flatts with ideal viewing background with full light grey cloud on a N>2 turning NW>3 at 14 degrees.
Plenty vis activity this morning with low counts but a good variety of species of moving species. Mipits were the bird of the morning coming through constantly throughout the watch but only in groups of 3 and 4. All the Mipits and Swallows were coming through low over the 'Bumps' to the east of me with empty skies to the west.
Skylark, Jackdaw, Snipe and Jay were all unusual birds for up there whilst 3 Buzzard were high and direct.
No pictures with everything high or distant both morning and afternoon.
Another trek around Doe Park mid afternoon but as expected, no Osprey after 2 text messages of it fishing mid morn and midday, last being seen at 1235 hrs. Its usual timetable is for it to return around 3 hrs from it leaving the reservoir towards Hewenden so I knew I would be visiting in between the bird being present. Having said that MP and MD took over as I left and also drew a blank although there had been lots of disturbance all p.m. with paddle boards on the water and nuggets on noisy off road bikes nearby. I must remember to take my cheese wire for the latter on my next visit.
Otherwise it was a matter of scanning the trees which produced a single Green Woodpecker, female Blackcap, Willow Warbler and Jay as well as 2 Buzzard and several Herring and LBB gulls over towards TMR.
