FLY FLATTS An increase in Wheatear with 13 present.
Another bright clear morning with plenty blue sky and sunshine on a light SSW>2 at 16 degrees.
A clear out of passerines this morning apart from Stonechat and blogging Mipits but an increase of Wheatear. No signs of the Black Redstart today but possibly still in the area.
Mipits were moving throughout but very hard to pick out in the bright blue cloud whilst Swallows trickled through early morn.
Otherwise it was just odds and sods with Jay and Snipe whilst a group of 6 Rooks over >E was unusual for this site.
By 0930 a convoy of gunmen arrived so up stumps and an early finish.
Just over a 1 hour watch at Doe Park failed to produce the Osprey though it had been there in the morning and I later got a text from Nick Small saying it was at Hewenden , firstly on the shore then in the trees.
Just the usual species at Doe Park plus 2 Buzzard over but a pleasant hour in the sun with good company. Nice to meet Vicki J there as well as a Cullingworth birder. Vicki had the Osprey yesterday but, like me, had to admit to a dip today.
