Birding on the wild side, Fly Flatts,(permit only) and Doe Park

Fly Flatts                                  Single Wheatear battened down from the wind.
                                             Rough water
                                            White horses on the waves.
                                                      SE corner

                                                     The jetty
                                                  East Bank
                                              High tide
                                                               The lonely tree, south bank.
DOE PARK                                 2 Cormorant >N + 2 on the water.

A wild morning at Fly Flatts once the mist had cleared and the rain stopped with a near gale force W>7 blowing at 37 m.p.h. with 60% cloud at 10 degrees along with light drizzle.
Once again very little skyward but my first squadron of Starling this season heading in their usual migratory direction of >NW along with a group of Jackdaw and 2 Greylags all in the same direction.
A small trickle of Meadow Pipit >S and 2 Skylark whilst a single Wheatear was head down facing the wind but stayed on the deck.
An hour at Doe Park p.m. with target bird, Pink Footed Geese coming down the Aire valley and MPs falcon sp, though neither of these were obliging.
Much calmer conditions at this site with Buzzard, Sparrowhawk and Kestrel up plus a single Raven mobbed by Jackdaws.  Usual species on the water whilst 2 Cormorants went over >N and 2 were on the usual buoys.
No Osprey sighting today from birders at both Doe Park and Hewenden so possibly the strong winds were favourable for it to move on ?
Several reports of Pink Footed Geese on the move early evening with skeins sighted by
DJS over Lee Mount >NW and a single skein reported by Angela and Gary >NW over Boothtown.
Another day of strong winds and rain forecast for tomorrow, hopefully no fog.
