I,ve had better days! Fly Flatts, (permit only), Doe Park.

FLY FLATTS                          High tide up the slipway
                                               The east bank peninsular.
Rough water and mist over the moor

A poor morning weather wise with a low cloud base and mist banks coming over from the west bringing a mix of rain and drizzle. A WSW>5 was blowing increasing to near gale W>7 at 32 m.p.h. by 0945 hrs as the skies cleared but by this time too late for any vis mig.
A few gulls moved through not troubled with the weather but only a couple of Swallows and a handful of Meadow Pipits.
A few passerines on the deck but no Wheatear today.
Hopes of a good afternoon session at Doe Park fell flat with just the usual species and, as expected, yesterdays Wigeon and Teal had gone.
A week since I last made contact with the Osprey though its still around as I was informed that it was at Hewenden this afternoon which seems to be the theme with it lately.
More gulls are using the shoreline now with mainly Black Headed plus a few LBBs, this is probably due to a few fields around the area being ploughed lately.
Good company today waiting for something to happen with Sharon B, Nigel K,
Mark P and a regular Cullingworth birder plus one more unknown to me.
Mark picked up a falcon species briefly, thinking possible Hobby, but it moved down the valley before he could get onto it. Nigel and me missed it by taking our eye off the ball talking!
Tomorrow looks interesting with a cloudy day and very strong westerly.
