         Another 6 Oystercatchers over high and >N. 13 today.

                                  Dunlins keeping away from the gulls

   Just 1 Ringed Plover found way out on an island.

                                     148 mixed LBB and Herring gulls

 

                 This very pale version of Herring gull stood out.

                                        Dunlins very mobile

1500 hrs at Fly Flatts just in time to see the last of the hail showers move over. The wind had increased to W>4 with 60 % cloud cover.
                                                     Most of the Dunlin and Common Sandpipers were along the west banking out of the wind whilst just 1 Ringed Plover was found out on an island in the water.
Another 6 Oystercatchers came over very high and >N making 13 today with this mornings 7 whilst
148 mixed LBB and Herring gulls were along the NE shoreline. One amazing sight was to see a Lapwing walk along the mud just behind the gulls with 2 small chicks following her, talk about tempting fate.
                    With 13 wader species at Fly Flatts so far whats going to be the next. My moneys on Turnstone , Ruff and Grey Plover although a Black or Barwit would be nice along with a Curlew Sand.
