A real horror of a morning with heavy rain , light mist and an E>4 but good moving conditions.
Fly Flatts just held the usual Dunlins Common Sandpipers , Redshank and Oystercatchers all being reluctant to come out of the shelter of the shoreline apart from the Common Sands which don,t seem to bother.
Despite the good bird conditions very little was moving skyward with just a few Herring gulls >NE.
An early finish but driving back past Nolstar a call from HC at Leeshaw reservoir, Oxenhope with 4 Turnstones and a Sanderling made me swing round in the road and head over there.
On arrival Howard told me the birds had just left >E so a mega dip for me, if it was,nt for bad luck I,d have no luck at all, but the good run had to stop sometime. Despite missing the birds it was , as always, a pleasure to meet up with Howard (Compo) , and have a catch up on old times. Thanks for the call Comp. Just the usual species at Leeshaw with Oyks, Common Sands , Redshanks etc.
