A cloudy afternoon with some heavy rain and drizzle showers on a light W>3 . Unfortunately the sun kept popping out as I was trying to take pictures with the Dunlin between me and it.
Once again the westerlies did the trick fetching a group of 9 Dunlin in to join the 6 already present and although the light was terrible and silhouetted it was amazing to see 15 Dunlin moving around the SE corner although a nightmare to get any half right photos.
At one point ,as the birds flew, a Snipe took off with them from the shoreline landing in the reeds nearby. The area was alive with the usual Common Sandpipers, Oystercatchers and Redshank but this mornings Shelducks had moved on.
A Short Eared Owl sneaked past me, as I was involved with the Dunlins, spotted by DJS scoping from the top road.
A bit healthier for the goslings today with only a handful of gulls present.
