Rare visitor for Fly Flatts, Little Ringed Plover
Plenty Reed Buntings around the shoreline
A late start this morning after waiting in for a delivery so just a flying visit scoping the north and east shorelines from the boatyard and a check of the south end ponds and shoreline.
Slightly better weather with 50% cloud cover and a brisk E>4 although not cooling it enough to stop the heat shimmer.
The north and east end held 128 big gulls which I am now starting to check for Yellow Legged Herring as the peak period of July approaches. Otherwise it was down to Dunlin, Common Sandpipers and Redshank plus a single Ringed Plover way over on the north most mud.
The south end ponds held several Redshank and Common Sandpipers along with 5 Dunlin and the welcome guest of a Little Ringed Plover.
Good to see a few birders checking it out up there with Brian Vickers and Rod Proctor from B.O.G.
yesterday afternoon and Alan Taylor this morning.
