Leewshaw /Lower Laithe reservoirs.

                                  1 pr Goosander

                                       Lapwings holding territory
                                            11 Oystercatcher present

With thick fog on the tops this morning I headed east of the Nab to check out Leeshaw and Lower Laithe reservoirs.  Leeshaw was below the cloud base starting off bright but in the  mist and heavy drizzle by 0945 hrs with an increasing SW>4.
As always at Leeshaw, at this time of year, the area was buzzing with birds though nothing out of the ordinary. Several Oystercatchers and Curlews but no Redshank back yet, usually arriving around the 13th of the month.
Lapwings were everywhere guarding territory whilst a Dipper was in the area that they bred in last year. Very few Meadow Pipits back at this site as yet.
