NOTE !!
No sightings of Roe Deer, Fox, Hare or Badger will be mentioned on this blog throughout the year and links will be removed from other blogs giving the whereabouts of these mammals due to the rising influx of poaching, long dogging and lamping by sick individuals.

Fly Flatts / Cold Edge Dams

           3 unringed Barnacles, Cold Edge

Bit of an odd Tufted, possible hybrid or just
the way the light is reflecting on iridescent purple
on head. Some books class it as a variant.

                                              Commons
                                               Greylag.

Early a.m. and although I ordered a westerly wind I did,nt want so much making the area unworkable with a near gale force W>7 blowing at 32 m.p.h. so after 30 minutes sky watch showing just a few Herring gulls >NE I dropped down to Cold Edge Dams where it was very cold and windy but birdable.
The 3 Barnacle geese were in the usual field along with 251 Canadas and 2 Greylag whilst Leadbeater Dam held 5f 2m Tufted, 5 Common gull, 8 Lapwing.
