NOTE !!
No sightings of Roe Deer, Fox, Hare or Badger will be mentioned on this blog throughout the year and links will be removed from other blogs giving the whereabouts of these mammals due to the rising influx of poaching, long dogging and lamping by sick individuals.

Queensbury today

A bright and mainly sunny day but with the wind increased to E>5 increasing 6 late afternoon and a drop in temperature the steady flow of Meadow Pipits had ceased today with empty skies over Foxhill at lunchtime.
A bonus this morning was 2 Curlew very high and >W over the garage both looking to have shortish bills but a call from one of the two quickly dismissed any thought of Whimbrel and put them to 1st year birds.
Several Pied Wagtail were on Morrisons, Illingworth roof this evening with 8 counted and several others flitting around half out of site.
Seems that there are several Bluethroats come in on the easterlies so we may get lucky and discover one in the area. My last one was at Silsden several years ago now but that was a northern europe red spotted whereas the ones being reported now are central/ southern europe white spotted, it could happen !
