Fly Flatts

                               7 Teal present throughout

Teal mobile but stayed in area

                                         Waiting for the thaw
                                       Canadas moving through
                                     Plenty chipping Snipe

                                                      Up drumming
                                                          An over fed Red Grouse

An ideal morning with sunshine and 50% cloud with a slight cool WNW>3.
Very little sky movement other than a passage of gulls >NE but the moor was sounding more spring like now with calling Curlew, Golden Plover , Snipe, Meadow Pipits, Red Grouse , Greylag geese and Canada geese.
The water was lively with a nice suprise of 7 Teal which were mobile before settling near the far bank on the water which is still 50% froze. An unusually high count of Mallard were also present along with Canadas and Greylags.
Snipe were up drumming and Curlews holding ground but still in low numbers.
Despite a good wall scanning session no Wheatear were present either  at Fly Flatts , Wind farm area or Withens Gap.
Got plenty Nyjer down which seemed to attract the sheep but no sign of Twite.
