Mixenden Reservoir from Ovenden Moor 100m

Down the Calder Valley to Wainhouse Tower
Ringby Top and Emley Moor mast beyond
Soil Hill from the golf course
A brisk dog walk from Ogden to just short of the Withins and back this evening in a strong W>6 just in case an Osprey was trying to sneak North undetected.
The skies were blue and clear but mainly birdless other than a steady flow of LBB gulls >NE and the usual Carrion crows and Jackdaws.
Surprisingly no Hirundines in the sky and no Wheatear around the golf course and moor although with the wind strength it was,nt surprising.
Around 100 Meadow Pipits were at the top end of the track looking fresh in and not yet established whilst 3 pair of Pheasants darted through the bracken.
Good to see Peter Turner in the garage this morning who kindly called in to show me a video he,d taken of the Cooper Lane Waxwings and he was shortly followed by AC who called to pick up more Tawny Owl pellets which gave us chance to put the birding world to rights before he left.
