Leeshaw Reservoir

                                    Plenty small gulls

                                    Few Herrings

                                        3 Redshank present

As forecast, plenty fog banks around, both on the tops and in the valleys. Leeshaw was clear but dark full cloud. though remaining dry on a light SE>2 at 8 degrees.
Much quieter this morning compared to my last visit here with very few geese and a less count of gulls with around 250 small gulls but only c30 Herring and no LBBs.
Around 60 Lapwings with now 3 returning Redshank along with 19 Oystercatcher and 4 Curlew. Nothing overhead apart from the usual corvids, Starlings etc.
Leeming was void of gulls with just 12 Herring and 15 small gulls in the Dog and Gun field.
Going by last years record, just 10 days to go before the first Wheatear arrival.
A brighter day tomorrow depending on fog with a week of east and north east winds to face again.
