Unusual big move of Jackdaws >SE
1 of the 2 mottled Greylags on the water.
The run of brilliant weather at Fly Flatts continues with a bright clear morning with haze over the distant moor on a light ESE>3 at 6 degrees.
Getting to look and sound like spring now with several Curlew and Lapwing calling as well as the Canadas and Greylags on the water. The 5 Goldies from yesterday gave a very brief appearance whilst 3 Redshank are now present as well as the Ringed Plover and 4 Oystercatchers.
A pair of Reed Bunting were in the compound bushes along with 3 Meadow Pipits and 2 Herring gull were on the water before moving off >NE.
An unusual occurrence this morning was a continuous flow of Jackdaws >SE in flocks of 10 to 15 totalling over 150 from 0830- 1000 hrs. Not a common bird at this site and even rarer to see this sort of move, other than autumn vis mig time.
A cloudier day tomorrow but a stronger, moderate NE>5 starting off at 6 degrees but overnight fog could linger on into the morning. The wind is to increase after midday.
