A not bad weather morning at Leeshaw with 60% cloud, some sun, but a nice cooling SW>3 at 16 degrees and clear visibility, apart from the heat shimmer.
Gulls were the bird of the morning with a big move west of Black Headed and Lesser Black Backed, the Black Headed skimming the water whilst the LBBs went over very high and only an odd one or two dropping down briefly.
Muck spreading in the field by the track did'nt give off the best of aromas but it brought in at least 100 Lapwing, mostly juvs, plus 12 Stock dove and 2 Oystercatcher. A single short billed Curlew had me scoping for Whimbrel but just a juv Curlew on its way through.
All the usual 3 species of hirundines along with Mipits and Goldfinch present, whilst a Grey Wagtail and 4 juv Pied Wags were around the conduit area.
Two Heron were by the water with 2 female Goosander and the usual species afloat.
A misty damp night followed by cloud in the morning on a light westerly and hopefully a bit cooler.
