A real blustery morning with a W>6 gusting 7 at 12 degrees and 80% cloud with quick bursts of sun.
Contrary to yesterdays dry forecast I had heavy horizontal drizzle showers throughout the water.
This mornings weather made ideal reservoir watching tackle with gulls piling through the full duration, though the expected Terns never materialized. LBB gulls piled through >W mostly very high with very few landing briefly before moving on. A low count of Herring gulls went through as well as 2 Common gulls and several Black Headed.
A flock of 34 Lapwing went through high and >W whilst plenty are still present in the fields and shore along with the usual 2 adult and 1 juv Oystercatchers.
Usual high count of geese on the water and shore-line as well as the long staying 2 female Goosander and several Mallard. Due to the strong wind, supposedly, I had just the one Meadow Pipit and no other small passerines that must have been anchored down somewhere.
Still plenty Swallows plus a few House Martins but the Sand Martins were absent today.
Partly cloudy in the morning with a light chance of rain and a lighter WSW wind. Hopefully Fly Flatts will be clear and lower water for what will be my first visit this month.
