                                    juv BH gull, centre
                                    Oyk and 2 Snipe

Single Curlew still present and chick

A half decent morning at Leeshaw today despite fog on the tops and heavy drizzle showers throughout on a light SW>3 at 9 degrees. Visibility was sketchy often peering through the large banks of drizzle making any photos very fluffy.
Snipe have been very rare this year so it was a surprise to find 2 on the SW shore, which luckily has,nt been affected by the rain. Still 2 Oystercatcher present and a single Curlew, creating around its chick, which must be near fledged by now. Lapwing numbers are slowly reducing with mainly the juvs left.
Plenty Swallow, House Martin, Sand Martin and Swifts overhead, this being an exceptional year for Sand Martin which must have bred close by whilst a good count of Meadow Pipits are in the area moving around the surrounding fields and banking.
Just the usual geese on the water as well as Mallard, 2 female Goosander and a few Black Headed gulls whilst 7 LBB gulls headed >W. Otherwise, just the usual species plus a couple of Little Owl on their usual wall.
Another capful of rain for tomorrow on a light wind alternating between NW and NE.
