I love July. Leeshaw

                                Curlew still with late chick

                                Pied Wag bred 3 young
                                The busy corner
                                Another belter, Common Tern

                                Very distant moving fast >W
Gulls starting to build on north shore.

Not bad conditions this morning at Leeshaw though not as lively as yesterday missing out on the wind and drizzle. Plenty sunshine this morning with 50% cloud on a cool W>3 at 11 degrees.
July has been good for me so far with another day and another good bird when a Common Tern came through with Black Headed gulls going directly >W in moving mode keeping to the north of the reservoir over the top farm and fields. It very nearly got by me as there was a good move of Black Headed gulls through >W but luckily I got onto it briefly with just some distant record shots.
A few LBB gulls through but nothing like the numbers of yesterday whilst several Swallows, Swifts and House Martins were overhead.
Still 4 Oystercatchers on the shore along with 2 Common Sandpipers and a single Curlew protecting a very late chick. The long staying female Goosander had another female with it today and a Barn Owl was seen on route early morn.
Around 50 big gulls in the Dog and Gun fields but in a top field very distance so I did,nt scope up to go through them.
A weekend away from Leeshaw now with preparations tomorrow and road closures Sunday for the annual farmers straw race.
Looking like a wet and windy morning tomorrow with wind from the west.
