Dispersion well underway. Leeshaw Reservoir. Friday 12/7/24

                                    Alive with Swallows
                                    as well as House Martins
                                3 Oystercatchers present
                                1 of 8 juv Stonechat

                                 Very active House Martins

Good conditions once again at Leeshaw this morning with full cloud on a light ENE>2 at 10 degrees with light drizzle showers.
Another morning showing that dispersion is underway with the majority of the watch spent checking out the small passerines. Several juv Blue Tits and Blackbirds moving through, not common at this site, whilst good counts of Meadow Pipit, Stonechat, Reed Bunting and Wagtails were present along with Goldfinch and a juv Robin.
The Dipper was down in the beck whilst the reservoir area held Oystercatcher, Common Sandpiper, Heron, LBB and Black Headed gulls plus the usual geese and Mallards. The single Curlew is still creating as if it has a chick whilst 4 flew high overhead >NE on the move, with around 100 Lapwing still present. No sign of yesterdays Whinchat.
The 3 hirundine species were up in good numbers along with several Swifts.
Looking good for the conditions in the morning with same cloud as today with chance of rain on a light NNW. That will do me nicely.
